MANILA, Philippines—A group of photographers, photojournalists and photography hobbyists want to dialogue with the Department of Tourism to thresh out the guidelines on shooting pictures at Rizal Park and Intramuros in Manila.

The Bawal Mag Shoot Dito Pilipinas (BMSD Pilipinas) expressed their appreciation to the DOT for attending to complaints about guards of the National Parks Development Committee and the Intramuros Administration who were preventing people from taking pictures in the two public areas.

However, the group said the NPDC and IA’s joint statement that they didn’t have a “no-shoot” policy in the two places has raised more questions than answers.

“Experiences on the ground say otherwise. And it had been going on for years. While we appreciate their response, this is not a simple issue that can be answered by a mere general statement. A lot needs to be laid down and discussed to put a period to this issue,” BMSD Pilipinas convener Mel Cortez said.
