LEGAZPI CITY-Construction workers unearthed on Saturday morning two vintage bombs at a construction site in Daraga town in Albay province.

Senior Inspector Maria Luisa Calubaquib, Bicol police spokesperson, said the vintage bombs, believed to have been dropped during World War II by jets but failed to explode, were recovered by construction
workers excavating at the construction of a commercial building at Jiggy’s Transport Terminal in Purok (zone) 1, Barangay (village) Kimantong around 8 a.m.

Barangay Kimantong is several meters away from the Daraga police station and municipal building.

Calubaquib said the police regional Explosive and Ordnance Department took the two vintage bombs for proper disposition.
