Although Vice President Ma. Leonor “Leni” Robredo may not be offered a Cabinet post soon, Malacanang welcomes her “readiness” to accept such an offer.
Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque was reacting to Robredo’s remarks that she is open to accept another post in the Duterte Cabinet although she does not see the President giving her another post soon.
“Hindi ko po alam na kinokosidera siya ng Presidente sa kahit anong Cabinet position. So to the Vice President, we appreciate her readiness, unfortunately parang wala naman pong offer ngayon,” Roque said in briefing in Paniqui Tarlac on Friday.
In a CNN Philippines interview on Thursday, Robredo said he was “open” to accept another Cabinet post if Duterte offers her another job.
Robredo, who was former chairperson of the Housing and Urban Development Coordinating Council (HUDCC), was asked by Duterte in December 2016 to desist from attending Cabinet meetings. She resigned from the Cabinet on Dec. 5, 2016.
