Woman nabbed for illegal gun possession in Isabela

QUEZON, ISABELA- A woman was arrested on Thursday (Mar. 1) in one of two raids conducted by policemen tasked to search for unlicensed weapons, but a second suspect evaded arrest.

Esmenia Sabado was detained when Cagayan Valley policemen found a Cal. 40 pistol and ammunition, as well as a magazine assembly for an M2 Carbine rifle at a house in Minagbag village.

In another house on the same village, police seized a 12-gauge shotgun, two magazines for an M14-Armalite rifle, 24 bullets for a 12-gauge shotgun, and holsters for handguns, according to Supt. Ronald Laggui, Isabela police spokesperson.

Rodolfo Edradan, the suspected gun owner, was nowhere to be found.

Judge Raul Babaran of the Regional Trial Court Branch 19 in Cauayan City issued the two search warrants against Edradan and Sabado on February 28.
