Opposition Sen. Leila de Lima has filed a resolution urging her colleagues in the Senate to honor the late National Artist for Sculpture Napoleon Abueva for his incomparable influence to the growth of Philippine art.
Abueva died at the National Kidney and Transplant Institute in Quezon City on Feb. 16. He was 88. He was laid to rest at Libingan ng mga Bayani on Feb 24.
De Lima noted that Abueva was acclaimed for his diversity in style and skill in using indigenous materials. —Jocelyn R. Uy
