More Filipinos have expressed much trust” in the United States while they showed a neutral stance towards China, a nationwide Social Weather Stations (SWS) survey taken in the last quarter of 2017 revealed.
The SWS, in its poll results released Wednesday, revealed that Filipinos have “very good” in three countries: United States with a +68 net trust rating, Canada with +55, and Japan at +54.
The poll, meanwhile, found “moderate” net trust ratings for six countries: Singapore at +29, Malaysia at +20, Thailand at +19, Indonesia at +18, Brunei at +16, and Vietnam at +13.
It also found “neutral” net trust ratings with four countries: China at +7, Myanmar at +8, Cambodia at +7, and Laos at +3.
North Korea was the only country that received a “poor” net trust rating among Filipinos, registering a -19 net trust rating in the survey.
The survey was conducted using face-to-face interviews of 1,200 adults, aged 18 years old and above, nationwide. It has a margin of error of ±3% nationwide, ±4% for Luzon, and ±6% each for Metro Manila, Visayas and Mindanao, he said./ac
