The low pressure area (LPA) off Palawan has dissipated, leaving the easterlies or the warm winds from the Pacific as the dominant weather system in the country on Tuesday, the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said.
The easterlies affecting the eastern portion of the country would bring cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms in Bicol Region as well as in the provinces of Samar, Quezon, and Aurora.
Pagasa said that flash floods or landslides due to light to moderate with at times heavy rains are also likely in these areas.
Meanwhile, Pagasa said that the northeast monsoon or hanging amihan would bring overcast skies with light rain over Cagayan Valley; and partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rain over Ilocos Region and the Cordillera Administrative Region.
The state weather agency, on the other hand, said that Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain due to localized thunderstorms. /kga
