MANILA, Philippines—Typhoon Chedeng (Songda) may have spared the country from a direct hit but the rains it brought disrupted domestic airline schedules, leaving hundreds of passengers stranded at the airports on Friday.
At least nine flights to and from different destinations in Luzon and the Visayas were cancelled due to bad weather, airport authorities said.
Among the flights that were called off were seven Cebu Pacific flights to and from Dumaguete, Caticlan, Isabela and Tuguegarao.
Philippine Airlines’ flight from Manila to Dumaguete and its return flight were likewise cancelled.
