Government anti-drug operatives have confiscated about P2.5 million worth of methamphetamine hydrochloride, commonly known as shabu, in a buy-bust operation in Paraňaque City.

The suspected drug pusher, identified as Hadjinor Norayda, was caught peddling the drugs in a fast food chain along Quirino Avenue in Baclaran.

Aaron Aquino, director general of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), said in a statement that Norayda was arrested on February 18, Sunday, after transacting with an undercover agent who had acted as a poseur-buyer.

“Confiscated during the operation were suspected shabu, weighing more or less 500 grams, with an estimated market value of P2,500,000.00,” Aquino said in a statement on Monday.

Norayda would be charged for sale of dangerous drugs in violation of Article II of Republic Act 9165 or the “Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002,” the PDEA chief added. /cbb
