Dole job fair in QC hires 130 jobseekers

More than 130 jobseekers were hired on the spot on Sunday at a job fair that the Department of Labor and Employment (Dole) organized at the Quezon City Hall to coincide with the 32nd anniversary of the culmination of the Edsa People Power Revolution.

Dole Bureau of Local Employment Director Dominique Tutay said some of those hired during the Trabaho, Negosyo, Kabuhayan job fair will start reporting for work on Monday.

Of those hired as of 3 p.m., 64 were males while 69 were females, Tutay said.

There were 1,594 local job applicants and 507 overseas job applicants described as “near hires” or those who would undergo additional interviews or submit requirements before they are accepted.

Tutay said 51 employers participated in the fair. More than 16,000 jobs were available, broken down to 4,156 local and 12,000 overseas jobs. —Jerome Aning
