A low pressure area (LPA) was spotted in Surigao del Sur on Saturday and is expected to bring cloudy skies with scattered to widespread rainshowers and thunderstorms over the Caraga and Davao regions, the state weather bureau said.
The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said that at 3:00 a.m., the LPA was seen at 615 kilometers East Southeast of Hinatuan, Surigao Del Sur. Residents were advised to be cautious on possible flashfloods and landslides.
Cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms due to the trough of the LPA will also be expected over Eastern and Central Visayas, and the rest of Mindanao, Pagasa added.
Meanwhile, a northeast monsoon would affect the Cagayan Valley Region, Cordillera Administrative Region, and Ilocos region.
This would bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with scattered rains over the affected regions.
Metro Manila and the rest of the country would experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers brought by localized thunderstorms, the Pagasa said. /muf
