LEGAZPI CITY-The Department of Health (DOH) in Bicol sent 14 mobile dental clinics to different evacuation centers on Friday afternoon.
“The very main objective of the deployment of these mobile dental clinics is to (conduct) oral hygiene check up to thousands of evacuees affected by the eruption of Mount Mayon,” Napoleon Arevalo, director of DOH Bicol, said.
He said oral problems like toothache and other mouth-related ailments are the leading conditions among evacuees next to respiratory tract infection based on daily disease monitoring.
DOH Bicol celebrated the National Oral Hygiene Month with a motorcade and a short film showing to emphasize and remind the public of the importance of taking good care of a person’s teeth for a healthy life.
