The No. 1 most wanted criminal of Las Piñas was arrested again on Wednesday just barely few months after serving his jail term for another crime.
Suspect Kenneth Cristobal was arrested by Las Piñas police in a house in Basa Compound, Barangay Zapote at 11:30 a.m. Police served his warrant of arrest for robbery issued by Judge Joselito Vibandor of Las Piñas Regional Trial Court Branch 199.
During a body search, arresting officers also found five sachets of suspected crystal meth, or shabu from the suspect.
The Station Drug Enforcement Team of Las Piñas, however, said Cristobal was not included on their drug list.
Police said they had Cristobal under surveillance for two weeks after he stopped returning to his residence in San Isidro Subdivision, Barangay Pamplona Uno.
An officer of the warrant and subpoena section said Cristobal had just been released in November last year after serving his jail time for a separate robbery charge.
He also had “numerous” pending cases of theft and robbery in Las Piñas and Bacoor, Cavite courts.
Police said Cristobal was a “notorious” thief and “akyat-bahay” gang member back in Pamplona Uno. He was also part of a band of thieves operating in Las Piñas and nearby cities of Parañaque, Muntinlupa and Bacoor.
Some of his cohorts, however, were detained at a jail in Bacoor, police said.
Aside from being committed at Las Piñas jail for his recent robbery charge, Cristobal would also be facing an illegal drugs possession charge. /jpv
