Tricycle driver killed in Quezon

LUCENA CITY – A tricycle driver was shot dead by a still unidentified gunman in Tiaong town, Quezon province on Monday night, police said.

Supt. Erwin Obal, Tiaong police chief, said Vicente Barrias Cañezo, 32, was driving his tricycle when he was repeatedly shot by the suspected gunman in Barangay San Agustin around 9:30 p.m.

Cañezo died on the spot from bullet wounds in different parts of the body.

“We’re looking at the possible involvement of a woman as the motive. The victim was known as a womanizer,” Obal said in a phone interview.

Policemen were still conducting further investigation to identify the suspected killer.
