PAGADIAN CITY – Unidentified men riding-in-tandem shot a tricycle driver here on Sunday evening, the police said Monday.
Ramon Tilao Picpic of Barangay La Suerte was in front of a mall on Rizal Ave. here when he was attacked.
Police Officer 3 Mizrach Lapid, the investigator of the case, said despite being hit several times, Picpic tried to drive his tricycle towards the nearby Cabahug Hospital but it bumped into a parked multicab vehicle.
Bystanders, who saw him bloodied, brought him to the said hospital but he later died.
Superintendent Benito Recopuerto, the city police chief, said the tricycle driver became the latest victim in the series of attacks involving guns here.
The Inquirer has collated at least seven gun attacks here since January 18, including that of Picpic.
Recopuerto said they were already trying to address the killings and have partnered with village officials in monitoring persons of the interest in the city. /je
