Assistant Secretary Esther Margaux “Mocha” Uson believes Secretary Christopher “Bong” Go was a victim of “rumors.”

Uson made the remark when asked in a brief interview at the Senate on Monday if she thought Go was a victim of fake news.

“Biktima sya (Go) ng tsismis. Itanong mo sa Rappler,” she told reporters.

Uson was among the government officials who showed up at the Senate to show support for Go, who was dragged into the P15.7 billion frigate deal of the Philippine Navy.

Facing the Senate committee on national defense, Go also lamented the “irresponsible” reporting by Rappler and Inquirer about the project.

He even requested the Senate to summon the two news outfits on its ongoing inquiry on fake news. /cbb
