SAN PEDRO CITY-The head of the Office of Senior Citizens Affairs in Cainta town in Rizal province was gunned down late Thursday, the police said Friday.

Carlos Sale, 69, was on his way home when he was shot dead by a gunman around 6 p.m. in Barangay (village) Sto. Domingo.

Sale suffered a bullet wound in the temple from a .22 caliber gun, said Cainta police chief Supt. Raynold Rosero. The suspect escaped aboard a motorcycle.

In a phone interview Friday, Rosero said the killing could be related to the victim’s personal relationship.

“Even at his age, love triangle was still very much possible,” Rosero said, adding that the suspect did not take anything from the victim.
