Cainta City Mayor Keith Nieto has offered P100,000 reward money to anyone who could lead to the arrest of the suspects in the killing on Feb.11 of the city’s deputy policeman.
Superintendent Raynold Rosero, Cainta Police chief, said manhunt operations by a special task group were ongoing for the arrest of Robin “Ruben Tae” Paglinawan, 38, of Cainta, and Germogenes Lachica, who allegedly shot dead Cainta’s deputy police chief Senior Insp. Jimmy Senosin.
A report reaching Rosero shows that Senosin, 41, and his team had gone to Lakas Bisig, Floodway in Barangay San Andres, Cainta around 7 p.m. Sunday, to verify the information that Paglinawan was in the area with a firearm tucked on his waist.
The suspects fired at them and even hurled a grenade at the officers, a report said. Senosin was shot in the head in the gunfight with the suspects who were known robbers and drug pushers in Pasig and Cainta.
Senosin was rushed to the Pasig City Medical Center where he died around 1:20 a.m. Monday.
The police followed La Chica in a house with blue gate which led to the arrest of Ronaldo Idolog, 44, and La Chica’s son Jophine, 29, who were repacking illegal drugs.
Paglinawan and the older La Chica remained at-large.
Financial assistance
Aside from the reward money, Nieto also signed a resolution giving Senosin’s family another P100,000 in financial assistance.
The local government also provided burial and funeral assistance to the family and offered to extend educational assistance to Senosin’s four children.
The local government is coordinating with the family to determine the needs of Senosin’s children, said Aldrin de Leon, chief of Cainta’s public information office.
In an earlier report, Philippine National Police spokesman Chief Supt. John Bulalacao said the two wanted suspects started as robbers on Edsa before they engaged in illegal drugs.
The suspects are reportedly members of the “Highway Boys” group which is involved in illegal drugs, gun-for-hire and robbery-snatching.
On Wednesday morning, several stations, including Pililla, Rizal and those from Viga, Catanduanes, offered a minute prayer for Senosin and his family.
