Abu Sayyaf bandits seize DPWH engineer in Sulu
ZAMBOANGA CITY – Suspected Abu Sayyaf bandits snatched a government engineer as the victim was leaving his house in Barangay Upper San Raymundo in Jolo town in Sulu province around 8 a.m. Wednesday.
Senior Superintendent Mario Buyucan, Sulu police director, identified the victim as Enrico Nee, an engineer of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) detailed in Sulu.
“Initial investigation revealed that the victim was about to leave his house in Upper San Raymundo, Jolo, Sulu going for work at the DPWH when taken by the abductors,” Buyucan said.
He said the suspects fled with Nee on a “Tamaraw type” vehicle towards the direction of Barangay Anuling in the adjoining town of Patikul.
