Aquino: Paje, Robredo to get permanent Cabinet appointments
BANGKOK, Thailand—President Aquino confirmed reports Thursday he already has approved the permanent appointment of Environment Secretary Ramon Paje and Interior Secretary Jesse Robredo.
Mr. Aquino’s statement virtually closed the doors on losing Liberal Party senatorial candidate Neric Acosta, who was earlier touted to be in line for environment portfolio.
“He and Paje will be appointed permanently. We will forward their papers to the Commission on Appointments,” Mr. Aquino told reporters covering his state visit here on Thursday night.
The President also disclosed that he was talking with two Cabinet members, “one of whom might (be) shifted in terms of his responsiblities.”
He refused, however, to identify the official pending his scheduled meeting with the Cabinet members.
