According to the Department of the Interior and Local Government, the 911 Emergency Hotline Service Program trained and certified 161 emergency telecommunicators and established eight new public safety answering points in 2017.
The top five incidents reported through the 911 National Capital Region hotline were: need for rescue or ambulance assistance, response to a vehicular accident, addressing nuisance, request for police assistance and response to fire incidents. —Marielle Medina
