THE PETRON Blaze Boosters padded their winning run to four by downing the Barako Bull Energy, 75-66, last night in the 37th PBA Philippine Cup at the Araneta Coliseum.
Stocky guard Denok Miranda towed the Boosters to the win by erupting for a game high 21 points. Arwind Santos chipped in 15 points, while Lordy Tugade marked his return to the Boosters by scoring 11 markers.
The win shoved the Boosters to solo third place, tallying their seventh win in 10 games.
Leading the standings are the Talk ‘N Text Tropang Texters at 7-1 (win-loss) followed by the Rain or Shine Elasto Painters, who are 7-2.
Rain or Shine and Talk ’N Text will face each other in a big game today in Cagayan de Oro City.
The Energy, on the other hand, tasted their second straight back and dropped to 5-4.
Willie Miller and Dorian Peña led the Energy with 16 points apiece while Mick Pennisi added 12.
The Boosters trailed by six at the end of the first period, 12-18, but stole the upperhand at the bend, 35-33.
