Trillanes brushes off ’hooked on something’ remark of Duterte’s daughter

Opposition Sen. Antonio Trillanes IV brushed off the remarks of Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio that he might be “hooked on something” which might have “triggered his obsession” with his father, President Rodrigo Duterte.

“Siguro nasanay siya sa tatay niya. Di ba yung tatay niya high sa fentanyl? O baka yung mga kapatid niya. I don’t know. Ganun lang yun. Di ko na papatulan yun,” Trillanes said in an interview at his office on Tuesday.

[Maybe she has become accustomed to his father. His father is high on fentanyl, right? Or maybe his brother. I don’t know. That just how it is. I won’t even dignify the statement.]

Duterte’s daughter earlier lashed at Trillanes after he sought a Senate inquiry into the President‘s alleged unexplained wealth.

“I feel sad for Trillanes and his tireless attempt to rehash and recycle an issue that has already been proven as gossip,” the mayor said. “The senator cannot file a case because there is no basis for it.”

“I am starting to believe the rumors that Trillanes is hooked on something that must have disrupted his sanity, destroyed his dreams, and triggered his obsession with President Duterte,” she added.

The senator filed Senate Resolution No. 602, claiming that Duterte and Sara might have violated Republic Act No. 9160, also known as the Anti-Money Laundering Act (AMLA), for failing to “fully disclose” in their respective statement of assets, liabilities and net worth (SALNs) for the several years alleged money exceeding P100 million in joint deposits and investments at the Bank of the Philippine Islands. /atm
