ISULAN, Sultan Kudarat — Police here arrested a family of three over possession and sale of illegal drugs in a raid on Monday.
Arrested were Badrudin Sumensil, his wife Bebeng Guindal, and son Aljhon. All of them are residents of Purok Paghidaet in Barangay Impao, according to Chief Insp. Aldrin Gonzales.
Speaking for the Central Mindanao Police Regional Office (PRO 12), Gonzales said the raiding team – composed of Isulan and Sultan Kudarat police officers – served a search warrant against Sumensil for illegal drug peddling.
But it turned out that his wife and son were also into it, he said.
“The wife and the son were caught with sachets of shabu in their possession during the operation,” Gonzales said.
The raiding team seized two huge sachets of crystal meth, or shabu, from the family, an unlicensed .45-caliber pistol, shabu paraphernalia, and P16,000 cash.
Chief Supt. Marcelo Morales, PRO 12 chief, said a civilian informant was instrumental in the arrest of the suspects.
Charges for violation of the illegal drugs and the firearms laws had already been filed against the suspects who were now under detention. /atm
