Man arrested for threatening American ex-lover

POLICE arrested a homosexual who allegedly threatened to upload intimate photos of an American on the Internet.

Valdimir Tirol Silao, 21, a native of Buenavista town, Bohol province, was arrested based on the complaint of Kevin Mills, 19.

Mills sought the assistance of the police when Silao threatened to circulate photos of him after he broke up with the man.

Mills said he and Silao became friends through the networking site Facebook.

The American said Silao introduced himself as Colin Garcia.

Mills said he didn’t know that Silao was a man and they became lovers.

Mills said he later discovered the real identity of Silao and decided to end their relationship.

Mills said when he started ignoring Silao, the man threatened to spread his photos through the Internet.

Silao was later arrested by operatives of the Investigation and Detective Management Branch (IDMB) of the Cebu City Police Office (CCPO).

Silao admitted threatening Mills and said he did this so he could recover his cell phone from the American.

Silao admitted introducing himself as Colin Garcia. He said there were times that Mills told him that he loved him no matter who he was.

Silao is detained pending the filing of charges of grave threat, said police.  CORRESPONDENT CHITO O. ARAGON
