CARPENTER SHOT DEAD IN HIS SLEEP
A 47-YEAR-OLD carpenter was shot dead while sleeping on a bamboo bench outside his house in barangay Tugbongan, Consolacion town, northern Cebu.
Maximiano Heyrosa died on the spot with gunshot wounds in the chest and body.
The motive of the killing is still being investigated, said police.
The victim’s wife, Jenny, told police that her husband was a good man and had no criminal records in the barangay.
The wife said she heard bursts of gunfire shortly before midnight.

WANTED MAN FALLS
A MAN considered as the eighth most wanted person in Biliran province was arrested by police in barangay Lahug, Cebu City, last Thursday afternoon.
Aljay Ray Bontes is facing drug charges. A Leyte court issued an arrest warrant against him.
Insp. Delfin Bontuyan and other members of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group in Central Visayas (CIDG-7) rushed to a car wash shop in Lahug after receiving a tip that Bontes was spotted there.
Bontuyan said when they arrived at the shop, Bontes approached him and asked if he wanted to have his car cleaned up.
Bontuyan said they presented the warrant to Bontes and arrested him.

MAN SHOT, HURT IN CARRETA
A 44-YEAR-OLD man was shot and wounded by three unidentified men in barangay Carreta, Cebu City early dawn Thursday.
Police said Arnold Boter met the three men while walking along a road in sitio Laray.
One of the assailants punched Boter on the face.
Boter ran but was shot by the three men.
Boter sustained gunshot wounds in the back and a graze wound in the right arm.
Boter ran to the house of his cousin Wadam Calipano, who brought him to the Cebu City Medical Center.
