Two suspected drug dealers killed in Ecija drug busts

CABANATUAN CITY — Two suspected shabu (crystal meth) peddlers were killed during police operations in this city and San Antonio town on Friday and Saturday.

Senior Supt. Eliseo Tanding, Nueva Ecija police provincial director, maintained that the suspects fired first.

Arturo Cristobal was killed in a drug bust at Barangay (village) Sumacab Sur here on Saturday, after he allegedly sold a sachet filled with a crystalline substance for P1,000, said Supt. Ponciano Zafra, city police chief.

On Friday morning in San Antonio, Reynaldo Calison, 42, who was on the police’s wanted list, was killed after he allegedly fired at undercover policemen during a police operation in Barangay Sta. Cruz.

Recovered from Calison were six sachets of suspected shabu. The police said he was also tied to murders and robberies committed in Nueva Ecija, Tarlac, and Pangasinan provinces. /je
