A southbound Metro Rail Transit 3 (MRT-3) train was halted in Makati City Sunday morning after it suffered from “electrical failure.”

In an advisory, MRT-3 media relations officer Aly Narvaez said it unloaded its 150 passengers at the southbound section of Buendia station at 5:51 a.m.

Narvaez said the service disruption was caused by “worn out electrical sub-components” such as insulator, regulator, and main chopper,

Affected commuters were then accommodated in a next train which arrived 13 minutes after the incident, she said.

The train was brought back to the depot for preventive maintenance and replacement of electrical components, Narvaez added. /cbb
