LUCENA CITY – Two alleged drug users, both of them women, and one suspected street-level drug peddler were arrested in a pot session and buy-bust operation, respectively, in Quezon province, police said on Saturday.
Quezon police director Sr. Supt. Rhoderick Armamento said Aierene Ilas, 27; and Rochelle Alvarez, 33, were caught red handed, sniffing crystal meth or “shabu,” inside Ilas’ house by policemen conducting their operation against wanted persons in Barangay (village) Zone 2 in Atimonan town shortly before midnight Friday.
Police seized six sachets of shabu, rolled aluminum foil, plastic straw supposedly as “tooter”, disposable lighter, and drug-sniffing paraphernalia from the suspects.
In Tayabas City, drug enforcement unit operatives caught alleged drug pusher Mario Sabellano, 38, after he sold a sachet of shabu to an undercover policeman and a civilian informant in Barangay Dapdap around 7:30 p.m. Friday.
Authorities confiscated a sachet of shabu inserted in a P20-bill from the suspect. Police said the seized illegal substance is valued at P740 in the street market. /kga
