3 dead, 3 hurt in Isabela collision

GAMU, ISABELA – Three people died and three others were injured when a wayward pick-up truck rammed a tricycle on Thursday, (Feb. 8) at 5:55 a.m. in front of the Cathedral Village Subdivision in Barangay (village) Upi here.

The accident killed tricycle driver Florendo Lapastora, 54, of Benito Soliven town and his passengers, Teresita Languido, 38, and Gabriella Gorospe, 35, both vegetable vendors in Surcoc, Naguilian, Isabela, police said.

Lapastora’s other passengers Priscilla Masa, 59, and Wilma Domingo, 53, were brought to the Isabela Provincial Hospital, while pick-up truck driver Ernesto Angoluan was confined at the Isabela Doctors General Hospital.

The tricycle was headed for Ilagan City when it was struck by the truck bound for the Upi junction.

Angoluan would be charged for multiple homicide and physical injuries due to reckless imprudence, police said.
