15 ‘wanted’ persons nabbed in Mimaropa

SAN PEDRO CITY-Fifteen people wanted for various crimes were arrested in a two-day operation by the police in Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon, Palawan (Mimaropa) region.

Three of the 15 were listed as among the “most wanted” persons in Occidental Mindoro and Marinduque provinces, said Supt. Imelda Tolentino, regional police spokesperson, on Thursday.

Tolentino said the simultaneous operations from February 5 and 6 were led by the newly appointed Mimaropa police chief Chief Supt. Emmanuel Luis Licup and with the help of various law enforcement agencies.

Sammy Dimacutac, who ranked seventh in Occidental Mindoro, for the crime of rape, was arrested in Pandi town in Bulacan province.

Also arrested were Leodegario Lawig, who ranked fourth in Marinduque and Edward Tamares, who was arrested in Lubang Island, Occidental Mindoro for homicide.

The 12 others arrested were Juden Salem, Asthan Salem, Joel Española, and Ronald Atilano of Palawan province; Casiano Fiegalan and Rodello Loto from Marinduque; Jose Nietes of Roxas, Oriental Mindoro province; Fernando Alignay, Joey De Jesus, and Nestor Mazon of Pinamalayan town, Oriental Mindoro; Florentino Enore of Romblon province; and Rudy Mirabete of San Teodoro town, Oriental Mindoro.

The wanted criminals were facing charges of homicide, rape, child abuse, violence against women, illegal logging, unlawful cutting of coconut trees, theft and acts of lasciviousness.
