Wednesday morning is ‘coldest’ so far in Metro Manila – Pagasa

03:28 PM February 07, 2018

The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said that Wednesday was the coldest morning so far in Metro Manila for this year.

The weather bureau recorded a drop in the temperature of Metro Manila at 20.5 degrees Celsius around 6 a.m. Wednesday.

Pagasa forecaster Lorie dela Cruz explained that the drop in the temperature was due to the northeast monsoon or hanging amihan affecting the metropolis.

She also said that Metro Manila residents would likely experience waking up to more cold mornings in the coming days due to the weather system.

“Possible na mas mababa pa, pero siguro ito na ‘yung pinaka-mababa na mare-record natin,” Dela Cruz said in a phone interview.

Pagasa’s weather bulletin issued at 4 a.m. Wednesday said that Metro Manila would have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain due to the northeast monsoon.   /kga
