DAVAO CITY — President Rodrigo Duterte on Sunday night played another prank on members of the Presidential Security Group (PSG) here when he pretended to venture out of his house on his motorcycle.
Sources told the Inquirer the PSG had moved to secure the President, who had donned his motorcycle safety gear, thinking he was about to ride his big bike.
“It turned out he really had no intention of going out,” one of the sources said.
The President was a big bike enthusiast and occasionally rode his Harley Davidson.
When he was mayor, he would even venture out alone at night.
Mr. Duterte, who is known to tease his security at every opportunity, had just come home from a visit to the grave of his mother, Soledad, to commemorate her sixth death anniversary.
“He was in his usual playful mood,” one of the sources said.
A photo later released to the media showed him wearing a helmet and jacket, with his partner, Honeylet Avanceña, at his back. —Allan Nawal
