The Supreme Court has approved a P250 increase in the examination and admission fee for those taking the Bar examinations this year.

A report by Radyo Inquirer 990 AM Monday said that from the previous P3,500 fee, aspiring lawyers now have to pay P3,750.

The report quoted a notice issued by the tribunal saying that the increase in the fee was to meet the expenses set for the venue, manpower, and other logistical expenses.

In 2017, a total of 6,750 law graduates took the Bar exams. The High Court expects to have a bigger number this year, the report said.

The 2018 Bar exams will be held at the University of Santo Tomas on the four Sundays of November.

The examinations cover eight subjects namely: Political Law, Civil Law, Taxation, Labor Law, Criminal Law, Remedial Law, Mercantile Law, and Legal and Judicial Ethics. Faye Orellana, INQUIRER.net
