Church pleads for funds for Way of the Cross

The St. Alphonsus Mary de Liguori Parish Church is appealing for donations to finance its Garden of the Way of the Cross, which features Stations of the Cross created by the country’s greatest artists, among them Napoleon Abueva, national artist for sculpture, and multi-awarded glass sculptor Ramon Orlina.

The works of arts are laid out on the garden of the church but have not been installed properly to create a Way of the Cross as it should be.

The church, originally designed by National Artist for Architecture Leandro Locsin in 1968, was all but destroyed by fire in 2004 and renovated with the help of Architect Dom Galicia. The current church carillon was part of the original structure built from

Locsin’s design.

Donations may be deposited to the account (0080 0244 87) of St. Alphonsus Mary de Liguori Parish at Bank of the Philippine Islands.
