PDEA nabs drug pusher in Zamboanga Sibugay
PAGADIAN CITY-An alleged gun-for-hire, who doubled as drug pusher, was arrested during a buy-bust operation by Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (Pdea) agents and policemen in Naga town, Zamboanga Sibugay province, the police reported Saturday.
Senior Inspector Harry Velez, the chief of police of Margosatubig town in Zamboanga del Sur, whose men led Friday’s buy-bust, identified the suspect as Kairudin Amsali Mamintal.
Velez said Mamintal, a resident of Margosatubig, was a gun-for-hire suspect. He did not say what incidents the suspect had been involved in but added that Mamintal was a “high-value target.”
He said Mamintal’s arrest was planned when they got information he had been hiding in Naga, about 149 kilometers from Margosatubig.
Velez said seized from the suspect during the operation were four pieces of heat sealed transparent plastic sachets of suspected shabu worth P24,000 and the P200 buy-bust money.
He said charges for possession and sale of illegal drugs were being readied against the suspect.
