Most wanted criminal in Ilocos Region held in Quezon

LUCENA CITY-Joint police and military forces arrested the number one wanted felon in Ilocos Region in Mulanay town in Quezon province on Thursday, police said Friday.

Senior Superintendent Rhoderick Armamento, Quezon police director, said Lucena police led by its commander Superintendent Vicente Cabatingan and Army soldiers armed with arrest warrant issued by a judge in Alaminos City, caught Frankie Abellano, 50, in Barangay (village) F. Nanadiego early Thursday morning.

Armamento said the suspect was listed as one of the most wanted persons in Ilocos Region with a reward of P100,000 for his arrest. The suspect has long been wanted for murder and frustrated murder charges
that he allegedly committed in Anda town in Pangasinan in 1999. The charges have recommended bail of P200,000.

“The suspect was surprised how our operatives tracked him down but readily admitted the offense,” Armamento said.

Armamento said they learned from the suspect that he has been in hiding in Lucena and Mulanay during the past 19 years.

The suspect was detained in Lucena police jail.
