DAVAO CITY-President Duterte on Thursday committed P100 million to help fund agriculture development in lumad areas, particularly those places affected by the communist insurgency.
Duterte made the commitment during a talk with over 900 lumad leaders and elders during a summit of indigenous people’s (IP) leaders held at the regional military camp here.
He said he would also look for investors, who would pour capital into ancestral domain and develop lumad areas.
“If you will not allow mining in your areas, then we will not allow,” Duterte said, browsing a briefer of Mindanao areas with large IP communities.
