The northeast monsoon continues to affect Northern and Central Luzon and is expected to bring overcast skies and scattered rain in these areas, the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said on Wednesday.

Provinces affected by this weather system include the Cordillera Region, Cagayan Valley, Aurora, and the Ilocos Region.

Meanwhile, the state weather agency said that Metro Manila and the rest of the country would experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain due to localized thunderstorms.

Pagasa also said that Wednesday’s sunset will be at 5:54 p.m., as it advised that the rare “super blue blood moon” can be best viewed between 8:51 p.m. and 10:07 p.m. also this Wednesday.

The last time this rare lunar phenomenon – a combination of total lunar eclipse, blue moon, and super moon – was observed in the Philippines was in December 30, 1982.                  /kga
