BULA, Camarines Sur — Two suspected members of the Concepcion Group, a gun-for-hire gang which originated from Libon town in Albay, were killed in Bula town in Camarines province in a firefight with state forces afternoon of Tuesday.
Col. Joselito Pastrana, commander of 22nd Infantry Battalion of the Philippine Army’s 9th Infantry Division, said an undetermined number of gang members were traced through intelligence work in the remote coastal village of Sto. Niño.
Pastrana said combined elements from the Army and police pursued and engaged the gang members, who had been reported terrorizing the remote villages, in a firefight at 12:10 p.m.
Pastrana said the gang members fled, leaving behind their still unidentified dead suspects.
Firefight continued as of late afternoon Tuesday, he said. /je
