5 killed, 13 others hurt in separate road accidents in Zamboanga
PAGADIAN CITY – Five people were killed and several others were injured in separate road mishaps involving trucks and motorcycles in the three Zamboanga provinces in just a span of six hours on Sunday, reports from authorities said Monday.
The first accident was recorded in Diplahan, Zamboanga Sibugay at 2:30 p.m., when the trailer truck driven by Marcelino Auditor hit a Honda scooter and killed the back-rider, identified as Chriza Jane Polpol, a 14-year old resident of Malangas town. Elaine Azusano, 15, who was driving the scooter was wounded and was rushed to a hospital.
At 3:30 p.m., three persons were killed when a truck transporting copra slammed into a house in Baliguian, Zamboanga del Norte.
The police identified those killed as Sabdala Jamalul, the truck driver; and his passengers Siera Mukadam Salap, 54; and Raphy Jamalul, 35.
Two other people riding on the copra truck were also injured.
In Ramon Magsaysay, Zamboanga del Sur, 6-year old Jhon Trinidad was injured when hit by a single motorcycle as he was crossing the National Highway in Barangay Switch.
Article continues after this advertisementAt around 7:30 p.m., 42-year old Raul Bisin died when a single motorcyle crashed into the tricycle he was riding in Barangay Bogo in Pagadian City.
Article continues after this advertisementInjured were Joel Brawes, the driver of the tricycle, and his two other passengers; as well as the single motorcycle driver Jayson Blair and his back-rider, Arcelie Tayactac.
In Dumalinao, Zamboanga del Sur, 41-year old Louie Barrientos was critically injured when hit by a single motorcycle past 8 p.m.
The motorcycle driver, security guard Arden Alapan and his back-riders, Maria Bellarmie Blanco and Jeshyl Aninon, were also injured when they crashed into the pavement. /je
