CEBU CITY — A 61-year-old woman is facing charges after she tried to smuggle a kilogram of “shabu” worth P11 million into Japan.

Police said Dorotea Moyes was billeted in a hotel in uptown Cebu City and asked a hotel employee to have a courier deliver her package to Japan.

Hotel management became suspicious of the package and alerted police.

SPO3 Darius Libanan went to the hotel, checked the package and found it contained shabu (crystal meth).

Moyes, a native of Quezon province who holds an Australian passport, was brought to the police station for questioning.

She said a foreigner, who has not been identified, asked her to ship the package to Japan.
