2 policemen seriously hurt in bolo attack in Quezon

LUCENA CITY – Two policemen were gravely wounded when three unidentified men hacked them in Polillo town in Quezon province early Sunday.

In a report, Senior Supt. Rhoderick Armamento said Police Officers 1 Arnold Salvosa and Andro Agarao were on a motorcycle conducting an operation against wanted persons in Barangay Pamatdan when attacked at about 12:10 a.m.

The suspects reportedly blocked the path of the policemen before suddenly hacking the lawmen repeatedly and fleeing on foot.

Salvosa and Agarao were brought to the Polillo Medicare Hospital for treatment of severe wounds on different parts of their bodies.

Armamento, the provincial police director, went to Real town to see the victims and ordered their transfer to the PNP General Hospital in Camp Crame in Quezon City.

The police official also dispatched additional policemen to Polillo to assist in hunting down the attackers. /cbb
