A magnitude 4.9 earthquake jolted Surigao del Sur Sunday morning, the Philippine Institute of Seismology and Volcanology (Phivolcs) said.
According to a Phivolcs bulletin, the earthquake struck east of Marihatag, Surigao del Sur, at 10:19 a.m.
The tremor had a depth of 16 kilometers and was tectonic in origin, the report showed.
It was felt at Intensity II in Bislig City, Surigao del Sur, Phivolcs said.
The agency said no damage and aftershocks were expected from the tremor. /cbb
