Authorities have seized P3-million worth of shabu during a buy-bust operation in a residential area in Negros Occidental.

Aaron Aquino, director general of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), identified the suspected drug dealer as Christian Unabia, a resident of Barangay Palampas, San Carlos City.

Unabia was arrested by PDEA and local police after he agreed to sell the narcotics to a PDEA agent who acted as a poseur-buyer.

“Recovered from Unabia’s possession were eight plastic sachets containing suspected shabu, weighing roughly 608 grams worth P3,040,000, and assorted drug paraphernalia,” Aquino said in a statement on Saturday.

Aquino said Unabia would be charged for sale of dangerous drugs, possession of dangerous drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia in violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. /jpv
