MANILA, Philippines—Government’s travel ban on former president Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo remains in effect as the conditions set by the Supreme Court before she could seek medical treatment abroad have yet to be complied with, Presidential Spokesman Edwin Lacierda said Friday.
The Supreme Court threw out earlier Friday a motion for reconsideration filed by the Department of Justice seeking to bar Arroyo from leaving the country fearing she might not return to face electoral sabotage charges the government filed against the former leader.
