P4.8-M shabu seized in Cebu buy-bust ops
The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) has seized P4.8-million worth of shabu as five “big-time” drug pushers were collared in multiple buy-bust operations in Cebu City.
PDEA Director General Aaron Aquino on Thursday said three operations launched by the agency’s Region 7 operatives yielded more than 700 grams of shabu with an estimated street value of P4,830,000.
Teresita Evangelista, 56, was arrested for packing 13 pieces of heat-sealed transparent plastic packs containing shabu, weighing more or less 650 grams worth P3.9 million at South Bus Terminal along N. Bacalso Avenue, Cebu City, Aquino said.
In addition, Leo Oliveros, 33, and Eric Castro, 35, were arrested in Banawa Street in Barangay Guadalupe, Cebu City after PDEA agents discovered they were carrying three packs of shabu worth P630,000, the PDEA chief said.
Moreover, Arvin Postrero, 32, and Sheilamar dela Torre, 29, were nabbed for carrying six pieces of transparent plastic sachets of shabu worth P300,000, he said.
Aquino said the “big-time” pushers would be charged for sale of dangerous drugs, possession of dangerous drugs and conspiracy to sell dangerous drugs in violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
