Cloudy skies on Friday

MANILA, Philippines—An intertropical convergence zone is affecting Mindanao, while a wind convergence is affecting Eastern Luzon, the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said Friday.

“Eastern and Southern Luzon, Eastern Visayas and Mindanao will experience mostly cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms becoming cloudy with widespread rains over Northeastern Mindanao which may trigger flashfloods and landslides,” the state weather bureau said.

The rest of the country will be partly cloudy to cloudy with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms, it said.

Moderate to strong winds blowing from the east to southeast will prevail over Luzon and Visayas and the coastal waters along these areas will be moderate to rough, while winds will be light to moderate coming from the east to northeast with slight to moderate seas, Pagasa said.
