LUCENA CITY–Four passengers were injured when a Manila-bound passenger bus nearly fell off a bridge in Gumaca town in Quezon province Wednesday night after its driver turned sleepy.

A report from the Quezon police said a DLTB Bus being driven by Edy Casoco accidentally lost control of the vehicle while traversing the Maharlika Highway in Barangay Villa Arcaya around 10:50 p.m.

The bus rammed into a concrete bridge railing and hung onto it. The concrete railing prevented the bus from falling into the river seven meters below.
