BAGUIO CITY—Security guards shot dead one of two suspected burglars they caught exiting a condominium window at 1:30 a.m. on Wednesday (Jan. 24), the Cordillera police said.
The suspects entered a room at the second floor of Mega Tower Two in Salud Mitra village but were spotted by a condominium occupant who alerted the duty guards.
Danilo Sampaga Jr., one of the security guards, pulled his service firearm and fired shots at the men when he saw them trying to go out of the window toward an 11-foot-high concrete wall.
One of the suspects was hit and fell on the ground from the second floor while the other managed to escape.
Responding policemen said the suspect, whose identity has yet to be established, died on the scene with gunshot wounds on his right shoulder blade and right foot. /jpv
